About AV1Core

How & Why AV1Core Started
Originally focused on video compression, what began as experimenting with different encoding settings has grown into a carefully curated archive of movies and TV shows, prioritizing quality and efficiency.
We noticed that many other encoding websites offer HEVC/AVC releases, while AV1 encodes are scattered across multiple, unorganized trackers, groups, and forums. Therefore, we decided to save and store them on Google Drive for as long as possible, ensuring fast downloads and reliable access.
Every encode on this site represents hours of testing, comparison, and muxing to ensure it meets our standards before being shared with the community.
Who We Are / Our Vision
AV1Core is a small, passion-driven project, not a commercial venture. It began as a personal project by an indie encoder known as Retr0 and independently funded and run by a dedicated two-person team handling everything from encoding and quality control to website maintenance and content organization.
We've always been -and always will be- an independent project. We don't belong to any entity, faction, or country. We don't give a shit about politics, agendas, or anyone's causes. We do what we love, what we want, Not what some keyboard warrior thinks is "proper" or "acceptable". We don't fake niceness. We're human, and we have limits. If you think you deserve more than we give, go bug your mom for it. We really don't care.
While we welcome community contributions and feedback, but final decisions about content quality, selection, and site direction are made personally to maintain consistency with the project's original vision.
And yeah, we're the villains in someone's story like Tony Montana. We know it, and we're perfectly at peace with that.
